Who We Are
The Student Technology Council (STC) is a student-led, student-run organization that advises the campus Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice Chancellor on issues of student technology. STC recruits new members every year, and all graduate and undergraduate students are invited to apply to be part of the Council. The STC posts information about membership recruitment on its website, on its Facebook page, on a number of student listserves on campus, and makes presentations at new student fairs, in classes, and in spots around campus where there is heavy walk-by traffic.
There are ten student members of the STC, including two ex-officio members appointed by the ASUC (link is external) and the Graduate Assembly (link is external) and one ex-officio member from Student Affairs IT - Student Technology Services (link is external). Associate Vice Chancellor and CIO Larry Conrad (link is external), is also an ex-officio member. Anne Marie Richard, Director of Student Affairs IT - Student Technologies (link is external), is the Staff Consultant for the STC.
STC provides student representation to several major campus IT committees: IT Architecture and Infrastructure Committee (ITAIC), Student Information Systems (SIS) Project, Educational Technology Services User Advisory Group, and Student Tech Fund Committee.
