The Student Technology Council (STC) is a student-led, student-run organization that advises the campus Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice Chancellor on issues of student technology. STC recruits new members every year, toward the end of the spring semester and again each fall. Graduate and Undergraduate students are invited to apply to the council. The STC posts information about membership recruitment on its website, on its Facebook page, on Twitter, on a number of student listservs on campus, and makes presentations at new student fairs, in classes, and in spots around campus where there is heavy walk-by traffic.
There are normally eleven student members of the STC, including two ex-officio members appointed by the ASUC and the Graduate Assembly and two ex-officio members from Student Affairs IT and Educational Technology Services. The Associate Vice Chancellor and CIO, Larry Conrad, is an ex-officio member. The Director of Student Affairs IT - Student Technologies, Anne Marie Richard is the Staff Consultant for the STC.
STC provides student representation to several major campus IT committees: IT Architecture and Infrastructure Committee (ITAIC), Student Information Systems (SIS) Project, Educational Technology Services User Advisory Group, and Student Tech Fund Committee.
